Tuning Traces with Zoe Huey

For the tuning traces project, margit galanter and Zoe Huey have been co-hosting a constellation of events in Tuning, drawing, and live archiving through visual practice and the multi-senses.  The gatherings include public workshops, working groups, practice sessions, a research retreat at Lisa Nelson’s studio-home, and a public observation experience. These are continuing on to the present and have expanded to multiple locations.

The public observation experience at Seven Mirrors in Old Oakland: an informal showing with a participating artists working group, a gathering of artists, including: Ainsley Tharp, bae laurel, Frances Rosario, jubilee july, margit galanter, Kevin C. Lo, Rose Huey, and Zoe Huey; with some live archiving by Denise Leto, Stacey Goodman/Seven Mirrors, tony only.

The tuning scores workshop was a full day, taught by margit. Sensory-perceptual composition practices created by lisa nelson. This aesthetic movement research will be attending to the multisenses, attuning with image in context, with visual/non-visual play, collectively.

The event was co-presented by Seven Mirrors, Zoe Huey, and the vivid grove, and takes place at Stacey Goodman’s Seven Mirrors experimentation space in Old Oakland.

We thank Seven Mirrors, Stacey Goodman, Lisa Nelson, and all of our donors for the support in this project. It has continully been a grassroots, collective, homegrown approach.
